Challenge:
Cable network promoting an original feature film to media contacts and select target audience. Assets to be distributed included video trailer, music video, and Audio CD track. Selected media must have compatibility with DVD set-top players, Audio CD players, and both PC and Mac computers with CD-ROM drives.
Why an Enhanced VCD-Audio CD-ROM was the best media:
Assets included two video files and a "stand alone" Audio CD file. This unique enhanced format is the only one capable of allowing viewers access to all three files on every platform requested.
The Allied Vaughn Solution:
These three formats had not been combined on a single disc before. Allied Vaughn was able to successfully overcome the technical challenges of mixing multiple specifications and deliver a single disc that worked on all platforms. A major part of the success was due to the communication between the production team and the client with regard to "ideal" performance expectations and the realities of combining multiple formats on a single disc.
Results:
The success of the original 25,000 unit distribution led to a follow-up order for an additional 50,000 units
